Breeder Verification Process
Every breeder on Nearby Pets India goes through a rigorous 10-step certification. Physical farm visits, live video-call tours, AWBI compliance checks, and 6-monthly re-verification — no shortcuts.
10-Step Breeder Certification
How we ensure every pet on our platform comes from a transparent, welfare-compliant, background-checked breeder.
Why Our Breeder Verification Matters
The Indian pet market has many unverified sellers. Our process exists to protect buyers and animals alike.
Animal Welfare First
Physical inspections ensure breeding conditions meet welfare standards — not just paper compliance. We check living space, diet, enrichment, and stress levels.
Genuine Pedigrees
Breed standard review and DNA verification ensure the pets sold are genuinely the breeds advertised — no mixed breeds sold as purebred.
Buyer Protection
Buyers can see a breeder's certification status, inspection date, and complaint history before purchasing. Full transparency builds trust.

Summary: How Nearby Pets India Verifies Breeders
Nearby Pets India does not accept breeders automatically. Every breeder must pass a 10-step certification process: document verification (AWBI, GST, vet records), a full background check, a physical farm visit by a trained inspector, a live video-call facility tour (recorded for archive), a purebred breed standards review, a vaccination records audit, and full AWBI legal compliance review. After passing, the breeder receives a Certified Breeder badge valid for 6 months, after which re-verification is mandatory. Breeders who fail welfare checks or accumulate buyer complaints have their certification revoked immediately. This process ensures that every pet sold on Nearby Pets India comes from a verified, welfare-compliant, legally registered breeder.
